A brief national and state update was provided, but will be elaborated when more members are in attendance. The major issue is who to petition for in the presidential primary. This will be discussed in detail at the in person state Coordinating Committee meeting on August 26th. We plan on having a fundraiser that evening, which needs to be planned out.
We will be tabling at the Sweetcorn Festival on August 25th. Tom will purchase compact fluorescent lamps from the Dupage Greens for sale at the Festival and possibly the Farmer's Market. An ILGP/Prairie Greens updated brochure was discussed.
On August 20th, the Green Tea will feature Sachi Kuhananthan, MD. We talked briefly about advertising for the event. Susan will look into the Urbana Free Library as a possible venue, to be more welcoming to the public.
Mark attended an AWARE meeting to discuss candidate recruitment. He created and passed out flyers for the group. The reception was very good.
The IRV for Urbana effort is going well. Petitioning at the Farmer's Market and Strawberry Fields will continue. Neighborhood canvassing is expected to start soon, hopefully with significant participation from the Campus Greens.
A press release supporting the passing of the Citizens Police Review Board will be issued.
We discussed having more CC meetings in order to take care of business in between membership meetings, particularly with online votes.
