June 2007 Membership Meeting
In attendance: Joe, Tom, Susan, Chris, Jack, Kevin

Because of scheduling conflicts we will probably not be tabling at the Farmer's Market on June 16th, and Susan will look into moving it to June 23.

The IRV for Urbana event today got some coverage on WILL AM 580, and additionally Tom participated in taping a brief segment on the effort that will air on on UPTV. Petitioning, which began at the Farmer's Market last Saturday, is going well with positive response so far.

Advertising to reach out to potential candidates was discussed and plans include a "public square" spot on WILL as well as an article on the web site with links posted to local message boards and forums; Joe will coordinate.

At the state level there are ongoing discussions about fundraising and membership drives, the website, and meeting planning. Locally we need to raise some funds now that we've spent some of our money on tabling and ongoing expenses. A garage sale was tentatively planned for June 30 and there were several commitments to contact venues and artists for a benefit concert.

The Green Party US speaker's bureau was mentioned as a potential source of high-quality speakers for a fall event.

There was interest in reviving the "Green Tea" meeting where time is set aside for learning about and discussing issues and business is kept to a minimum; Joe will work this into the agenda of the third-Monday meetings with input from members on what issues we should focus on.
