Levels of organization
Green Party of the United States ↔ Illinois Green Party and 43 other state Green Parties ↔ Prairie Green Party and other local Green Parties

The Green Party has three separate levels of organization: National, State, and Local.

In terms of hierarchy, local Green Parties and the grassroots Greens that run them make most of the decisions for that party. The state and national party serve to connect locals and organize electoral and issue campaigns that take place on a larger geographic level than the area encompassed by the local Green Party.

Local: Prairie Greens

The Prairie Green Party of East Central Illinois consists mostly of members and campaigns in Champaign County, but also welcomes Greens from Ford, Vermilion, Piatt, Macon, Douglass and Edgar Counties.

The Prairie Greens elect officers in April of each year. Currently the officers are
  • Convener: Joe Futrelle
  • Treasurer: Susan Rodgers
  • Secretary: Tracy Nectoux
  • Press Officer: Tom Abram
  • Membership Steward: Kostas Yfantas
  • Website Manager: Joe Futrelle
  • State Party Delegates: Joe Futrelle, Susan Rodgers, Walter Pituc
